Bringing Paintball to the Hearts
May 18, 2009 by aoelof

A historical first happened on 17 May 2009! In fact, it was 2 historical first!
For the very first time, Singapore has witnessed a 5-men Paintball Competition! This is in line with the international tournaments where the bigger players compete often in 5-men competition. This also goes to show how paintball has been sprayed to the hearts of the public, where more and more people are now aware of what paintball is about and are playing competitively.
For the very first time too, paintball has been brought to the heartlands where members of the public can witness how a professional paintball competition is held and played. The exact location is none other than Pasir Ris Park, Native Lawn.
This is a fact that the Singapore Paintball Novice Series (SPNS) 2009 has grown since its being incorporated in 2008 and the 2 firsts epitomise exactly the extent of the growth. TILT has been very fortunate to have been able to witness this growth every step of the way. As the Official Photographer of the SPNS tournament, the number of photographers covering we have provided in covering the tournament has also increased.
In the latest leg, there was 2 photographers on site covering the competition. Considering that we were very often in the line of fire, the fact that we got shot only about 20+ times per photographer is already a saving grace. It is without a doubt that we are often caught in the cross-fire as we seek that photo which can do the competition, that Paintball Association (Singapore) organised, proud.
