It has been 4 years since TILT were the Official Photographers for Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore. Since 2007, we see each year having increasing runners taking part in this race like no other. Similarly, the staff from TILT activated on that day had been increasing from the initial 3 photographers in 2007 to 9 photographers and 4 photography assistants in 2010.
In every year which we had been involved in, we had witness the unbelievable spirit of the human being.
We had witnessed how a father had pushed his daughter in a wheelchair throughout the entire marathon. They still continue to do so today.
We had witnessed how the Women’s Mount Everest Team had tied themselves together and completed the entire marathon, running as a team!
We had witnessed how a man, ran the full marathon, with only a thought in his head. The proposal and the professing of his love to his wife to be at the finishing line.
We witnessed how 4 year-old Jeremiah crawled to the finishing line during the 750m Kids Dash event. “Jerry” borned with spina bifida, a spinal defect which causes his lower body to be especially weak, achieved his goal.
These are all stories which are endearing and truly inspiring. There are many other stories which touches our hearts. Many other instances where we had witnessed. All these makes the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore a race like no other.
If the opportunity still comes knocking in 2011, you can be rest assured that we will still be at the finishing line and like Jerry, we will never once think of giving up!
