Based on the headline, you may be wondering if TILT has made a grammatical error or is TILT just a one-man photography company?
The answer to your question in the head is that it is none of the above!
“I AM” is the new Nikon campaign. To be spot on, it is “I AM Nikon” campaign, which incorporates television, print and digital media. The campaign plays on Nikon’s existing tagline ‘At the heart of the image’ and includes real-life scenarios in which people show who they are with a Nikon camera. For example, what makes Robbie Williams overwhelmed with emotion? What has a baby got in common with the first man on the moon? “I am Here”, shows holidaymakers exploring the Egyptian pyramids. “I am Part of the World”, features people from across the globe interacting with each other using the internet and their Nikon cameras.
Over at TILT, sports photography has always been a big thing for us. Our extensive coverage includes us being the Official Photographers for Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore for 4 years, Singapore Paintball Series for 3 years and many more other sporting events!
In fact, as we are updating this blog post, our photographers are shooting sports climbing. This is part of our work to profile the Team Singapore athletes in action for the SEA Games 2011, which will be happening this November!
That explains why in the headline, we wrote “Sports Photographers” instead of Sports Photographer. In fact, in September 2011, as part of Nikon Inspiration Showcase, for the Sports & Action theme, our only submitted photograph was one of the 7 photographs, taken by Singaporeans, to make the final cut of 25 photos from the numerous photographs submitted to be showcased!
“If you are that good, then why do you not submit more photographs?”
That may be a question which you may ask. Well, with our clients in the sporting arena, all our photographs, that we took, actually belongs to the clients. This one single photo that we submitted also happened while we are taking a break on assignment!
Are we sports photographers? You can decide after seeing the photograph below.

p/s: the watermark was created purely for the purpose of this blog post and is not at all related to the Nikon “I AM” campaign. Oh…we will be covering the 6th Asean Para Games 2011 happening in Indonesia as well!
